Sales and Applications Engineer

Livingston UK Ltd (Global Division) location Singapore  

Reporting/Base 

This position reports to the Global Sales Director and is based in Livingston's Singapore offices.  

Primary Job Purpose

To handle incoming customer enquiries, provide technical advice and quotations to customers, and maximise the conversion of quotations into orders. Also, as appropriate and as part of telesales/telemarketing campaigns, to proactively contact or visit customers with a view to generating additional business for the Company. Initially a 3 to 6 months training period is schedule in Livingston UK Ltd offices in England  

Key Accountabilities

  • Respond to incoming enquiries both for rental and for purchase of Test and Measurement products. This involves qualifying enquiries commercially and technically, supplying all relevant information and quotations/proposals to customers in a timely and accurate manner
  • Make proactive calls to identify potential customers and generate new business opportunities. This activity will also involve participation in market sector based sales projects, as directed by the Global Sales Director
  • Develop good customer relationships through excellent customer service
  • Make a significant contribution to the internal sales team by supporting colleagues commercially and technically
  • Work closely with the Field Sales Team and Partners to maximise all opportunities.
  • Identify and pass on opportunities for other products and services offered by Livingston
  • Administrate directly or non-directly opportunities from receiving and order through to return of the equipment to Livingston. This involves dealing with and co-ordinating all aspects of post order management, as directed by the Global sales Director
  • Keep customer and contact database updated
  • All quotations to be followed up within next day maximum
  • Update all sales quotes on the e-Result system to show future dates

  • Preferred Experience and Qualifications
  • Experience in a customer-facing role
  • Experience in the Test and Measurement are will be appreciated
  • Educated to HNC/degree level with experience or knowledge of Telecommunications and Test and Measurement technologies and applications
